The Watchtower: Episode 1
Welcome LOAders to The Watchtower: a glorious, brand new and official League of Ancients blog! This is going to be an informal, weekly update on all things LOA, covering all the latest news and juicy updates! You aren’t gonna want to miss them!
This past week has been epic for the project, so let’s get right into it!
First off, we had a press release written by our very own content writer –the Wordsmith — land on over 120 different websites globally! This was big news as it got us massive exposure in dozens of different countries. These weren’t just small publications either, we landed on Yahoo Finance, Business Insider, Benzinga, BSC News, CNN and CBC to name a few, as well as a bunch of other popular websites! In response we have seen even more awesome new members join our Telegram and Discord to find out more about the amazing project, and this will only grow more as new eyes land on the press releases! In addition, he wrote a fantastic article on the future of NFT technology and how League of Ancients is helping to push the envelope further. It went down a storm, getting over 23,000 claps (upvotes) and went viral on Medium, landing on the front page for all cryptocurrency tags, getting a ton more exposure!
Our amazing community has grown at an insane level too — right now we are sitting on a staggering 119,000 Telegram and 65,000 Discord members, as well as over 120,000 Twitter followers! That’s getting close to 200,000 members, and the game doesn’t even come out until 2022! It just goes to show how much faith our awesome LOAders have in the project, and what the team is building. We aim to be the biggest new game in DeFi and we are already well on our way!
Also, the Genesis capsule giveaway was a smash HIT! 25,000 people participated in this monumental competition! In case you didn’t know, we gave away not one, not two, or five, but ELEVEN Genesis Capsules to lucky winners! These rare upgrade skins are worth $500 each and are crucial ingredients in fusing an Immortal NFT skin, and now eleven lucky winners have begun their epic journey to dominance.
Two new heroes appeared in the mist this week too. Tarlos: The Radiant Guardian was first to storm into the battle, glowing like a shining beacon of hope. He came armed with his trusty war-hammer and a tragic backstory:
A titan of the Luminous Stronghold, Tarlos the Radiant Guardian stood tall and proud. That was of course until the Dark Souls’ Legion came.
Tarlos fought bravely, striking down wave after wave of Agor the Revenant’s army, but the enemy numbers were too many. Tarlos could not save his beloved King Axion. When the dust settled, Tarlos emerged from the darkness leaving countless enemy corpses in his wake.
Heartbroken by his failure to protect the Golden king, the ancient guardian gathered his resolve and fled the city. Tarlos needed to prepare, The Luminous Stronghold would survive and a war like no-other was about to begin.
Following like a shadow behind Tarlos another new origin hero (if you can call him that) entered the Fray: The Dark Reaver, Mortus. His dark purpose and origin remain much a mystery but is enough to chill to the bone:
The Dark Souls invasion set the Ancient Realm ablaze. Countless provinces were laid to waste and cities beaten into submission. Corpses lined the streets of nearly every corner of the Realm.
It was the perfect storm of death & decay that would awaken a dark power.
Long banished by the slain king Axion, The Dark Reaver, Mortus had been shackled for centuries. With Axion’s death and a realm in chaos. Mortus returns to rebuild his army and amplify his power. Any and all who dare stand in his way — shall feel the wrath of the reaver.
Both Tarlos and Mortus add to the growing roster of awesome characters you can play as when LOA launches, and we can’t wait for you to see them in action!
So, what else guys? Well LOA has also had a load of new investor sponsorships requests come in from a variety of companies who are being carefully choose from to ensure that they are a good fit and will help spread the word and help grow this amazing project! We also had an awesome game night quiz session in Telegram, where lucky participants won an Alpha Access AND a sought-after Genesis Capsule, worth over $500!
