League of Ancients Awarded US$25,000 Startup Grant by Amazon Web Services

We are honoured to announce that League of Ancients has been selected to participate in the AWS (Amazon Web Services) Activate Portfolio program for startups.

The exclusive program is only open to applicants who meet the right criteria and pass a stringent vetting process that identifies projects with the most potential for growth. Previous successful applicants include industry giants such as Airbnb, Doordash, and more.

By being part of the AWS Activate Portfolio program, League of Ancients has received a US$25,000 grant to help accelerate the growth of the project while optimising performance, managing risks, and keeping costs under control.

Why Amazon Web Services?

After a lengthy deliberation process that involved other industry giants like Google Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, Microsoft Azure and more, we eventually decided to select Amazon Web Services as the official cloud service provider for League of Ancients.

Apart from the monetary support offered by AWS, we also selected it for a variety of reasons. Firstly, AWS’ proven track record in the industry is unparalleled, boasting more services — and more features within those services — than any other cloud provider.

Like League of Ancients, AWS is also a forward-looking company, and has been continually expanding its services to support virtually any cloud workload. The company now has more than 200 fully featured services, including compute, storage, databases, networking, analytics, robotics, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), mobile, security, hybrid, virtual and augmented reality (VR and AR), media, application development, deployment, and management.

We believe that its forward-thinking approach to innovation will greatly complement the direction we are taking, especially in GameFi, which is such a new space ripe with potential.

On top of that, AWS takes pride in having security as its top priority.
